Located to the north of Madrid on the residential estate of La Moraleja in Alcobendas, Areteia was founded in 1980 as a private school focusing on attention to diversity and helping children with learning difficulties. Areteia offers the Spanish National Curriculum from infants to high school, in addition to vocational training.

Since its foundation in 1980, Areteia School has become a highly respected educational establishment in terms of student diversity and its attention to individual needs. Areteia recognises that every student is different and ensures that each child receives unique and specific attention tailored to their own particular needs. Areteia joined Globeducate in 2007.

One of Areteia’s core principles is equality of expectation, opportunity and success, and its work centres on providing a framework within which every student can develop, academically, socially and personally, regardless of their potential or pace of learning.

Areteia’s philosophy is inclusive offering “a school for all” and based on this premise the family-school relationship plays an essential and positive role in student development. The entire school community, students, families, teachers and non-teaching staff, all play their part in helping pupils to achieve their goals.

Under the structured guidance of teachers, speech therapists and psychologists, staff at Areteia work to try to find the most effective way of motivating students to find their path forward and encourage them to develop their individual strengths and abilities, preparing them to engage positively and fully in their academic and professional futures.
